That’s okay ♥ at the time I had been up for far too many hours straight and wanted to quit uni and go live on an island with only animals as a hermit forever or something, so I was pretty empathetic to your woes, whatever they were :) (most likely not as silly as mine ha) and I was too tired to come up with anything lovely to say that wasn’t too gibberish so cute kittens said it instead :3

I’m currently a cripple (sprained my ankle and cut open my knee, ehh) and today whilst Easter shopping he carried my bags,
bought a teacup for me I love (see previous post!),
then gave me a lift home,
offered to carry me down the driveway (I refused because believe it or not even being picked up tends to trigger my fear of heights/falling, I’msolame) so he settled for being a hand of support,
helped me bin-ninja all my left-over paper round papers & catalogues to everyone’s recycle bins,
and is going to help me with traveling for work on Sunday. :3

It’s so late and I should well and truly be asleep, but I really wanted to recognise just how much he did for me today, it’s really comforting each time I get to see how selfless and lovely he really is. ♥

Anyyyyway that’s enough being real sappy for now, heh. :P

I didn’t want to make any New Years Resolutions, because with University starting this year it is a mystery what kind of time I’m going to have and what things will be like. So instead I cut it down for now into:

Things I hope to have accomplished before Uni starts

Have read/gone through what University course books I can
Have already begun to learn basic Spanish & some basic history knowledge of Spanish-speaking countries
Have moved out into a rental place with Sam then hopefully Raine & Chris that is not too expensive and feels like home, where I can fully embrace a new-found sense of personal space and work my creative gardening & decorating magic upon it :)
Found a better job than Bon-Ton, that pays me more, is not cash-in-hand and is flexible with shifts
Have saved up money in January & February $
Have done driving practice, building up my hours
Have stayed at my Grandparent’s house for a least a few days in January before the school holidays end, to see my awesome cousins and other relatives ♥
Have gone on our half-baked idea of an Adelaide trip with Sam if possible, or at least celebrated our One Year Anniversary to the fullest :3
Have caught up with old friends before things get busy and I don’t have as much time to see them
Have gotten my own Medicare card
Have read at least The Silmarillion and The Hobbit (ideally, but it is okay too if this just happens before the next Hobbit movie comes out and I am too tempted again to go see it without having the chance to appreciate the books)

lastly;

Don’t forget about all those little things that make you happy, and who you are
(diary writing, practicing violin, taking Chloe on runs down to the park to feed the ducks, cuddling Lilly, dressing up all pretty in Summer dresses even if I’m just hanging around the house - then getting all dumpling in Pyjamas for cold nights, baking, making sure my new li’l bonsai tree Mr. Sweets Maple gets sunshine, and of course making lists.)

No matter what anyone tells you, go with your instinct on whether or not to take a gap year if you’re going to University. It’s your life and your money

I finished Year 12 exhausted mentally, in a weird place romantically, and all I really wanted was a bit of freedom to do what I wanted, get a job and work things out. Uni seemed like an overwhelming prospect and whenever people mentioned it, even up until a month ago I avoided the topic and just wanted to put it out of my mind.
I got negative judgement from most of the adults in my life for deferring, and whenever people asked me what I’m doing this year, and I said I took a gap year, their reaction almost always killed the conversation because to them that was the equivalent of doing nothing much.
Well, overall I’ve had an amazing gap year. I’ve figured out so much about myself and what I want to do over the next few years, I’ve saved up money, and spent so much quality time with the people I love.
When it came time to enrol; I left excited, feeling capable and ready. Most of the subjects I picked I wouldn’t have even thought about before, and had I rushed into that decision I would definitely had made mistakes, affecting my happiness for the next four years and potentially ruining my -quite expensive- course.

Long story short, I’m really looking forward to Uni now :3
